What can I say.

I can't help but start each blog entry this way. It's just so coincidental.

One week before the date of my impending unemployment, I brought this 3-cd compilation of this Chinese Pop singer to work.

"Keep Wakin: 1987 - 2002"

He used to call himself Emil Chau in the earlier days, I guess these days he's decided to go back to his traditional roots and call himself Wakin Chau.

周华健。

Did I get it right?

This is a picture of my CD compilation:

Yes, it's from haoting .com

As I write this now, there is the smell of sweet perfume emanating through my window. How it links to this post

I have no idea.

Well it's been a while since I listened to Emil Chau, or Wakin Chau if he wishes to be called this way, the last time was I think 2 years ago?

Wakin Chau is an interesting personality. He has managed to produce 40 over albums (according to wikipedia) and still, he is a respected singer/songwriter.

What is it that he has that makes him and his producers to come out with such iconic and moving songs over all these years, everytime?

Some people lose it after a while. One - hit wonders.

I never thought that milestones in my childhood has ever been found in music. In fact, I used to believe that my involvement in music has always been a recent thing.

But not with Wakin Chau.

His songs... silently accompanied me as I grew up, no I didn't realise it all the time. But they did, strangely his songs always sounded familiar.

His voice is very characteristic. Special.

He has almost become a role model. Let's see what I might realise from this new realization.
